I aim to build a better relationship between this school and its undocumented students so that they are supported and have good resources to help them through there school life and beyond!

Husenia Gomez Cifuentes

Hello, my name is Husenia Gomez Cifuentes, and I’m thrilled to be in my final year at Western Washington University! I am majoring in Business Administration with a concentration in International Business and pursuing double minors in Spanish and Leadership Studies. I’m so happy to serve as one of the new Campus Resource Navigators for the BRC. My goal is to make a meaningful impact by supporting our undocumented students and those navigating diverse legal statuses as they work tirelessly to achieve their dreams. I look forward to building a stronger, more unified community across campus. The BRC is working hard to create a space where everyone feels seen, supported, safe, and empowered!

Hi everyone! My name is Karla Garcia and I am currently a Junior at Western. I am majoring in Psychology and minoring in Women's Gender and Sexuality Studies. I am very passionate about helping people, especially those who are underrepresented. As a campus resource navigator, I want to offer the support and equitable resources students need and deserve. Not only this but I want to break down barriers and help students overcome them so all students have an equal opportunity and thrive in their success.

Quacyya Cuaresma

Quacyya is the inaugural Undocumented Student Retention Specialist at the Blue Resource Center within the Office of Multicultural Student Services.
She was born and raised on Dena’ina Athabascan land, known as Anchorage, Alaska. She began her journey in higher education at the University of Alaska Anchorage where she worked at Multicultural Student Services and earned a B.S. Health Sciences in health education and a Master of Public Health. Prior to working in student affairs, she supported systemic and domestic violence prevention in her community. She has a strong foundation and passion for the intersection of community wellness and social justice.
Outside of work and academics, Quacyya’s rejuvenating practices include writing poetry, being outside, and building community.
