Description
Join us for a screening of the film ‘Severed’ with the Disability Outreach Center and Ethnic Studies Department. Severed focuses on building solidarity for Palestine through the lens of disability justice. The film follows Mohamad Saleh, a Palestinian teenager from Gaza who lost his leg at only 12 years old and has survived five Israeli military assaults. Mohamad’s story is both deeply personal and emblematic of the thousands of Palestinians disabled by Israel’s ongoing genocide in Gaza. Following the film, we’ll have a discussion with the film’s director, Jen Marlowe, and protagonist Mohamed Saleh.
